How the model is made

From reference material to final inspection.

A convincing model starts long before the first print. Every phase serves one aim: making the stadium feel right from every angle.

    We gather detailed reference material

    We work with photographs, plans, aerial views and other available material, looking for connections and small features that ordinary images can miss.

  2. 02

    Dozens of hours go into the digital model

    We turn the references into a 3D design, compare each area again and refine it until the whole feels convincing.

    Printed in Czechia with detail in mind

    The print settings preserve fine edges and layers. Speed never takes priority over the result.

  4. 04

    Every piece is checked by hand

    We inspect the finished model from every side and only then secure it in its premium packaging.

The stadium story

A century of football in Müngersdorf.

Three generations of Cologne's stadium have occupied the same address. Today's arena is defined by its rectangular form, open corners and four tall towers. It also remains the heart of the wider sports park.

1923: the first Müngersdorfer Stadion

The first major ground opened in September 1923 on the site of a former fort in Cologne's Müngersdorf district. It became the new sports park's centrepiece.

1975: the second generation

A new stadium replaced the original complex. It became 1. FC Köln's long-term home and the predecessor of the present arena. Its complete roof was pioneering for Germany.

2002–2004: four towers

Today's RheinEnergieSTADION was built ahead of the 2006 World Cup. Its rectangular outline and four illuminated steel towers became part of Cologne's skyline. Phased construction spared the club a temporary move.
